Getting to Know Anton Golding of PPB Capital Partners

To Anton Golding, PPB Capital Partners was so nice, that he decided to work here twice! After joining the team for a stint as an undergraduate co-op from Drexel University in 2018, Anton embraced his alternative investments roots and returned last fall.

Born and raised in Los Angeles but having attended his secondary and post-secondary schools in the mid-Atlantic, Anton has the unique distinction of having both “California cool” and “East Coast grit.”

He’s been an invaluable member of the investment strategy and research team and, not surprisingly, he was very strategic in picking the store for a one-hour shopping spree. Well played, Anton W. Golding … well played indeed.

1. What was the last book you read?
   The New Realities by Peter Drucker
2. If you could invite 3 famous people (living or dead) to your house for a dinner party, who is on the guest list, and what would you serve?
   I would serve an opulent, multi-course meal to Teddy Roosevelt, Gore Vidal, and Voltaire
3. What is the one book you would recommend to anyone (and why)?
   A Tale of Two Cities. Aside from timeless lessons for individuals and society, this is one of the most elegantly written books of all time.
4. Which is more useful and why … intelligence or wisdom?
   Wisdom – intelligence is useless if one doesn’t know how to use it wisely.
5. Which movie scene will always give you goosebumps?
   The main battle scene from Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
6. Describe an experience that took your breath away or left you speechless.
   Standing above the clouds at Haleakalā Crater in Maui
7. If you were running for public office, what would your campaign slogan be?

9. When in elementary school, what did you what to be when you grew up?
   Watching my entrepreneurial parents, I always wanted to build a business. PPB has a deeply rooted culture of creativity and entrepreneurship.
10. Which household chore do you hate the most?
    Laundry. There are few things I despise more.
11. If you could have one superpower, what would it be, and why?
    Flying – I love traveling but wish I didn’t have to deal with TSA and cramped seats!
12. You can only choose one dessert. Are you taking ice cream or cake?
    Both – ice cream cake.
13. If Hollywood were to make a movie about your life, which genre would it be, and who would play you?
    A dark comedy starring Russell Crowe
